To Know You with All My Life
上邪
When I was studying the history of Chinese literature in 1984 or 1985, I read an ancient Yuefu poem called "Shang ye!". This may be a love letter written by an ancient Chinese woman to her husband. It means:
" My dear husband! I want to know each other and stay with you until forever. Untill the mountains cracked, the rivers dried up, the thunder roared in winter, the heavy snow fell in summer, and the heaven and earth came together, I dared to be separated from you. "
Out of emotion, I translated this Chinese poem into English lyrics. I also composed the music for the lyrics. The sheet music and Midi files were originally thought to be lost. I was sorting out old CDs not long ago, and luckily I found them, so I'll post them here as a souvenir.
